As we round out the final days of 2017, health care resets will be on the upswing in a few days. The new year always brings fresh resolutions from people about their health, their diet, their exercise and a slew of other personal resolutions. In an effort to get a jump start on your health, we’re bringing you a blog on two competitive devices on the market. Regardless, it’s our job to bring you awareness and education on pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy. Read on to discover: Tens Units vs. iMRS Devices and which is better long-term.
Battle of PEMF Devices: Introduction
I often get asked what companies are competitors of the iMRS product line. TENS units are one of the very few who are competitive. Therefore, it’s time for a comparison of the iMRS devices and the well-known Tens Unit. Before you purchase a PEMF device, it’s important to know how it stacks up against the competition.
Perhaps the most important consideration in investing in a PEMF device is looking for an established company. A long track record, constant innovation, and a solid reputation should be on your list. Make sure the unit you buy is made by a company who is always working to make their product better. Unfortunately, there are a lot of units on the market that have changed very little or not changed at all since their inception. Many others quickly come on the PEMF scene and quickly proceed to go out of business. The best companies that stick around are ALWAYS researching and working on ways to improve their technology.
TENS Unit: Pros
TENS units stand for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation. When it comes to health care conditions associated with PEMF therapy, our nerves are a big focus. What the TENS units do is focus on nerves and muscles. Some of their products come in a combo package to ease the pain of many conditions.
TENS units target specific parts of the body based on the modes of their devices. Digital displays make it easy for the end user to adjust the pulse setting, programs, and modes of therapy.
“Extra features like a built-in belt clip make transporting the unit with you a dream. Tasks like walking around the apartment become effortless, without being tied down by a pesky bulky contraption. It’s even small and convenient enough to take on the go, whether out for groceries or errands, you can travel calmly knowing pain relief is there.” — Source: Tens Units.
Mobility is indeed useful and helpful for people with pain. TENS units have the ability to be a primary device for comfort or a secondary device as a backup. One example is after a surgery. Another example is recovering at home or speeding up healing of a minor injury.
TENS Unit: Cons
While focusing on the major players of pain and discomfort is key, it’s a con to only focus on those major players. Let me explain. Nerves are a part of how our body experiences stimuli and pain. However, there’s more to it than just our nerves. PEMF therapy is best applied to our entire body. All our cells work together and speak the same bioelectrical language. Therapy is about putting the whole body. That’s why whole body mats exist and more evenly distribute pulsed electromagnetic waves throughout your body.
Price is a big one—we all get what we pay for, regardless of the product. If you have read my eBook, you learned about different types of mats and what to look out for. Some mats use coils differently, which changes the way therapy is applied. In regards to the TENS devices, we have not seen any full-body mats available. As unbiased as I can be, it seems their product line is primarily made up of smaller devices. Their reviews seem high, but I wonder: are their customers receiving the best care they can receive for the money? With a reputable company, the price is a determining factor of quality and vice versa.
iMRS Unit: Pros
I market MRS-Systems (developed and manufactured by MediConsult), I want to start by mentioning how approval of PEMF devices products are measured. All PEMF devices are not considered “FDA approved” simply because they are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any specific diseases or illnesses. It is worth noting that the Food And Drug Administration has acknowledged, regulated and cleared the MRS systems for marketing. Countless health and wellness products and devices are on the market for sale, which is not FDA approved or even acknowledged by the FDA. Luckily, our systems are, at the very least, cleared for marketing to the United States public as well as Europe and Australia through their respective governing agencies.
Only a couple PEMF devices on the market are digital and programmable. Only one, the iMRS and its product line, has an SD card and the capability to add new software programs as well as to allow upgrades to be implemented easily. The digital and programmability of the iMRS (with an SD card) also allows many other features such as:
- Secure digital and SD card upgrades are connected to the serial number of the unit.
- The Biorhythm / Organ Clock can be automatically set by an internal clock, (but can be overridden if necessary).
- The ability for setting multiple languages.
- All the applicators can be plugged into any slot in the back, and the machine intelligently recognizes which is plugged in.
- Allows for a more accurate “self-check” so that if there is any malfunction, the display can alert you to the problem.
- Allows for a database of protocols like the iGUIDE available on the iMRS unit.
PEMF Devices
Many PEMF systems on the market are still solid state and have no ability to be upgraded or changed unless a whole new unit is developed. This means everything is currently hard-wired and there’s no ability to upgrade or add new software. Essentially, this is an antiquated technology from the 1990s. The GOiMRS2000 differences are found in the products and tools themselves. The iMRS’ whole body mat applicator uses pre-programmed frequencies that vary based on the time of day the device is used. The basis for this time variance of frequency is naturally observed circadian rhythms.
iMRS Unit: Cons?
You be the judge regarding what may not work about the iMRS product line for you. It may be price, it may be a matter of education. You may not know enough of our line to consider us a viable solution or another company’s lines. Some reviews strike people differently. We can’t cater to everyone, nor can we please everyone. However, we’ll do our best to showcase testimonials, reviews, happy and satisfied clients as well as the studies and medical documentation to back up the successes of PEMF therapy with our products.
Below is our YouTube testimonials playlist for your viewing pleasure. We have over 30 genuine testimonials for various health conditions that have brought people comfort, less pain, mobility, and a happier life since using a PEMF device of some sort. Not everyone will have the same responses in the same timeframe, but the authenticity speaks for itself. I am very proud to market an alternative health care product that positively changes the lives of its users. Our testimonials can be found on our YouTube testimonials playlist.
